some time ago i introduced the phrase “food pact” to my friends as a shorthand for “i’ll go make and eat food if you also make and eat food” and ever since then ive just started incorporating more pacts into my life. stay hydrated pact. stretch break pact. stop doomscrolling and go to bed pact. we need to bring this back in vogue more people should be making pacts imo
the best part of this is when you ask “who wants to do a shower pact” and you get a half dozen friends all rolling up saying “the pact is sealed”. faustian behavior
i send a lot of your posts to my brother who doesnt have a tumblr and my brother refers to you as just "new liver same eagles" and hes always like "new liver same eagles is the coolest guy on the internet, he gets it" and such. i told him about how much you like the terror and hes gonna watch it just because you like it. anyway u have a fan who's never even been on tumblr 👍
having to be “mature” at a young age sucks bc you aren’t really “mature-mature” you’re a child playing at a maturity bc you don’t have the foundation to be the bigger person when conflict arrives so what you do is ignore it bc ignoring a problem and being happy about a resolution look the same to your inexperienced eyes. Then you get adults praising you for a development above your peers but you aren’t really developing. You’re stagnant. Your peers will grow up and experience things and make mistakes and grow from them but you will keep yourself in this box, ignoring things ignoring ignoring ignoring until one day you have to face the fact… it wasn’t maturity you had. It was fear. And now you’re an adult too and you make all of your choices based on an emotional risk/costs analysis bc you don’t know any emotion other than fear & you have to start healing from your own childhood by making peace that you weren’t really a mature child. You were just a child who was given too much to carry & didn’t know how to say “no”.
the reason dating men sucks nowadays is because they’re all too scared of being made a “sucker” or something by women, when the reality is that we are all suckers in this game called life. buy that pretty girl some drinks or venmo that hot woman $20. every experience adds to the tapestry of our lives. existence can be a dream and we love to have fun
“what if i pay for this woman’s drink but then she tells me she has a boyfriend” did you bring joy into the world? did you make others smile? will you remember this as an unfinished transaction or will you remember the time you made a stranger’s life a little easier
